I am using firebug 1.6, and not able to make the multiple-line example work. I copied the script and run in the console, but I don’t see the page change (input entry change) as described. any suggestions?

Hi,

3rd paragraph – the link for commandline is broken – I looked around, and suspect the page you’re referring to has been moved to the wiki, at:

http://getfirebug.com/wiki/index.php/Command_Line_API

and while it’s perfectly understandable, 2 minor errors in that paragraph – 1, you start “The list of Commandline APIs for Firebug are available…” but the list “is available” – since list is the subject (not APIs) and b) the second sentence starts “What I’m going here is that…” but you probably meant “What I’m doing here..” Maybe you don’t care about these things, no worries, just thought I’d mention them since I was writing anyway. ;)

In example #1, in the multi-line script, in the 3rth. line you wrote:

txt.textAlign = ‘center’;

but if you pretend to align the text inside the input element, so as it gets centered, you should write intead:

txt.style.textAlign = ‘center’;

ya.. cuz the code should be written in Javascript.. So, you cannot use “strong” HTML tag in Javascript code…. You should remove “strong” tag..

Hi Michael.
It seems to me that the example code for ‘dir(object)’ API has an error.

var obj = $x(‘html/body/div/div’);
dir(obj);

On my computer everything works fine if I remove the tag, i.e.

var obj = $x(‘html/body/div/div’);
dir(obj);

What do you think of it?
