I’m gonna stop playing “Link Exchange Program”

I just want my reader to know that I’m gonna stop playing “link exchange” program. But I will keep all existing links that are already exchanged except the inactive blogs and the blogs that has removed my link.

Here is the list of blogs that I have removed from my sidebar. (P.S: MayPooh, KoKoThet and Ye Maung! You may let me know if you start blogging again.)

  • Mig33fans
  • World Thoughts
  • Cricketmaniacs
  • Blue Logic Training
  • Maypooh
  • Ko Ko Thet’s Blog
  • Ye Maung’s Blog

Let me tell you why I did “link exchange” earlier. Actually, I got this idea from brainfox. We believed that exchanging a link can increase the PageRank of our blogs and the rank of technorati. It worked well at that time.

But things has been changed. When I read Lorelle’s explanation on how Google ranks the websites (You can read here “Secret Out - How Google Ranks Websites” ) , I come to know that it’s better to stop playing “link exchange” program because exchanging/buying a link won’t work in future. Plus, Google might penalize my blog in case I did something wrong in playing. So, Not increasing PR is okay but i don’t want the current PR of my blog to drop anyways.

Wordpress.com Vs Blogger.com

This post is created especially for those who have no idea which blogging platform is right for them. But For the time being, this article won’t be covered all popular blogger platforms but wordpress.com and blogger.com. I tried as much as I could for finding the differences between wordpress.com and blogger.com. If you are familiar with other blogging platforms such as Windows Live Spaces,Live Journal, TypePad and so on, you may contribute your thoughts for finding the differences between all free blogging platforms.

Well. Those are the differences that I can think of so far.

If you are not very sure whether you should choose blogger or wordpress.com til now, I’d like to suggest you to try wordpress.com for your blog.

Because ~

  1. If your blog is gowning bigger and bigger, you might want to move to paid hosting. Then, Wordpress might be the best way to do that. Because you can download the latest version of wordpress from wordpress.org or wordpress MU with free of charges. Then, you can easily export all of your posts and comments to XML file and import it to your new blogs. So, you won’t miss out anything. Plus, If you have custom domain then it’s more easy for you to move your blog to paid hosting. you won’t lost any of your readers. you won’t need to ask anybody to change the feed of your blog or your site’s url.
  2. Both Wordpress MU or Wordpress are open source so that you can be a part of development team.

Feel free to let me know if you found something that I missed out or you have suggestion/comment for this post.

UPDATE: Blogger supports widget too. (Thanks Myo Chau Htun and Elaine Vigneault )

UPDATE: 6.blogger blogs tend to be more spam blogs/ splogs than wordpress blogs because of the free search engine traffic, the savvy blackhat SEO guys use blogger blogs. (Thanks to Elaine Vigneault )

Thank you!

Blog Spammers stop spamming to my blog??

Initially, my blog used to get approx: 100-250 spams a day. Akismet helps me to save my blog from spammers so that the most of readers of my blogs didn’t saw any spam comment in my blog. It saves me a lot of times for checking each and every comments.

But I noticed that I don’t get any spam in my blog during these days. I don’t know why. I guess, it might be a bug.. Or … maybe.. All of blog spammers are really tried of spamming my blog. thenn, this is good. :)

But you know? Checking Akismet section and deleting spam comments is one of my daily activity. Now, akimet keeps on showing me that there is no spam “Must be my lucky day. :)” .. So.. i lost something that I used to do everything..

I know… It’s good but i miss them.. sometimes.. :`(

Update: I just found that this is ongoing issue of wp. You can check the discussion here. so, I guess,  they might be coming back soon.   good.. :P

Good things about arguing with people

I heard that there are a lot of fights happened in some blogs lately. Initially, I thought that why people keep on fighting all the time for nothing, why people are spending so much time for arguing about something that give you nothing.

I have no answer for long time until I read this post.
:)
Here is details.

One of the best ways of generating traffic is bitching. (Key word: traffic, not loyal readers)

1. Bitch at famous people. Or launch a public attack on something public. For example, you could make fun of Steve Irwin’s death or claim Beyonce has tourettes.

2. Bitch at a blogger/several bloggers/a group of people online. Oh, and don’t forget your blog link.

3. Do something completely ridiculous/unheard of/creative and work hard to make it spread like wildfire. Aka a meme. It helps if it’s really really cruel, like threatening to light a kitten on fire and videotape it. (But don’t do that, you’ll probably get threatened by PETA)

-Oh, and when people start bitching at you for it, you know they’re just trying to steal hits ^^

Or, you could go all exhibitionist and camwhore-ish.
Note: This only works if you look good. Or if you’re showing off some strange anomaly, like a third breast.

You could also do the boring old “I care about this, that, politics, economics, blabla, prostitution in the Phillipines”-stuff. But that takes time, effort, passion, and all those other morals we’d rather do without. (:

Yah. :) I came to know that it’s pretty good to make a fight on the blogs. :) That’s why, I’m thinking… maybe. I should also write about something that a lot of people won’t agree with me. :) Then, A lot of people will be coming to my blog and might write a lot of comments for arguing my post. :)
It doesn’t matter whether I could win or not. One thing for sure is that I will be getting a ton of traffic as FREE. :P . After that, I might be #1 in Top WP Bloggers List or I might get more PR. Currently, I’m at PR5 so that it would be great if I can get more PR. :)
But remember! I won’t leave my blog anyways. :)
Hav Fun! Njoy!
